One Woman's Solo Journey
Rivership Romance on Lake Monroe
On Thursday The Rivership Romance hosted a fundraiser for Keep Seminole Beautiful.
Michelle Thatcher
Michelle gave an amazing presentation on her 500 mile solo kayak trip up the St Johns River. "Thus, I use the title "Alligator Princess" as a metaphor to contrast our safe and protected life ... even pampered ... American lives with the more harsh realities of a wild and natural place. In so many ways, we are all "alligator princesses" when we venture into this Other Florida because the rules change when we do. And our "aristocracy" at the top of the food chain is no longer guaranteed." Quote from Michelle's website - http://www.alligatorprincess.com/.

Keep Seminole Beautiful would like to thank the Captain and crew of the Rivership Romance for an awesome evening and their most generous contribution. A special thanks to Jeff Drake, a professional photographer, who helps preserve the special moments in life.
Michelle Thatcher and Bill Belleville are two of Seminole Counties real treasures. We cannot thank them enough for sharing their experience & knowledge and for their dedication to preserving our natural environment.
