A great day for the rain needed to end the drought in Central Florida
Volunteers lead by Sean & Dan met on a very wet Saturday morning at 7:00 AM to set up for an ambitious community building project “Thunder Run” in Historic Downtown Sanford. The sodden volunteers then waited for a break in the weather.

Two outdoor stages were set up, vendors tents, the Budweiser truck primed and ready to. We all waited for a break in the weather. We heard that “Sanford Bike Fest” in Fort Melon Park” had cancelled events for the day.
We decided to try and salvage something for the merchants … we moved bands to covered locations at “JJ Hancock’s Bar & Grill” & “Changez Salon & Spa”; the City of Sanford staff and the police helped in every way possible; we rearranged the street closures and contacted the media that Thunder Run was open and running – come join us.

The only change in the weather was for the worse. (I’m not sure of the totals in Sanford but I received 7+ inches of rain.)
Finally around 7 PM we gave up and cancelled the rest of the event.
Please send me other photos of the event as I didn’t take very many...
