Make A Difference Day - River Clean-up
We are calling on our community to come join us on
Saturday October 22 from 9 am until noon
and give back on this National Make A Difference Day. We will be going out in canoes (provided by Wekiva Island Marina, up to 100) on the magnificent Wekiva River, designated by the US Congress as a National Wild and Scenic River. We will use small nets to pick up any trash, recyclables and monofilament fishing line that we see. This is a very easy canoe trip and can offer great family fun. Let’s Talk Trash: Plastic’s and other trash are not biodegradable. Only humans make waste that nature can’t digest. Bottle caps can kill aquatic animals. Trash on our roads ultimately ends up in our rivers and lakes. It’s about caring and protecting our Earth. Please join us on this day to give back! Call Mike for more details at 407-234-7283.
For all of our outdoor activities please bring: sunscreen, insect repellant, WATER. We no longer provide individual disposable plastic water bottles.
