January 1st | New Year's Day is the first day of the year, in the Gregorian calendar, falling exactly one week after Christmas Day of the previous year. In modern times, it is January 1. In most countries, it is a holiday. It is a holy day to many of those who still use the Julian calendar, which includes followers of some of the Eastern Orthodox churches, and is celebrated on January 14 of the Gregorian calendar due to differences between the two calendars. It is usually celebrated with Fireworks, from London at 0:00 to America, at 0:00. |

In each language there are about 100 structural words that make up 50% of a text. It is essential to learn the basic words and phrases with the highest frequency of use first rather than getting lost in a vocabulary that is rarely used. If for example after a year of learning you still don’t know automatically how to apply the verb to be - you will always face major problems defending yourself in a new language.
The basic vocabulary of a language consists approximately of 2,000 words and with its knowledge 85% of a standard text can be understood. For the normal person it takes about a year of constant learning to acquire this level.
The Spanish population in Florida is growing and almost everyone can benefit from the ability to speak Spanish, especially for the Holiday Season, to communicate better with friends, business partners, clients or employees.
Magda Maria is a certified teacher and artist with more than 25 years of experience in teaching languages. She grew up in the bilingual part of Switzerland speaking Swiss German and French.
