Gopher Tortoises - Oviedo
Our last tortoise rescue of the season!! The project is "Oviedo on the Park" in Seminole County. There are about 25 burrows on the 85-acre site. We are planning for only one day, however may need to stretch it to two depending on weather and burrow depths. We will be needing tortoise handlers, site scours, and one reception person for the project. The site has trails and is easy to walk through for the most part. There are patches of pretty dense and overgrown areas in addition to some large wetlands areas. The site is in Oviedo on Mitchell Hammock Road just east of the intersection of Mitchell Hammock and 434 (Alafaya Trail).
