What a great day
More than twenty-five volunteers – men, women and children from as far away as Orlando, Orange City and from across the street spent Saturday morning clearing trash and debris and planting native shrubs and trees and spreading wild flower seeds at the 18th Street Park in Sanford.

Leslee Berryman, Secretary of the Board of Directors of Keep Seminole Beautiful, Inc. removes trash from the park.

Natalie Shephard finds an old ???

Sarah Miller, Friends of 18th Street Park, interviews Arthur Braun who played football in this park in 1934.  He played for Lyman against Seminole High School.  "Children need some place to play other than the streets," Arthur said in the interview.

We planted Blanket Flower, Yellow Star Anise, American elm, Walter's Ciborium, Dwarf Fakahatchee Grass, and Wild Cotton. All are native to Florida and new to the site (go biodiversity:-)).  Mai Tran, Keep Seminole Beautiful, Inc. Board Member helps with planting.

The trash she collected is even bigger than our little volunteer Darshan Sasi.
